Much more engaging and intelligent than the book by the other V

Is this going to get better? Because currently it’s very slow with very little plot and not much character development. The audio narrator is annoying as well

Waiting on Libby loan. It’s a long book the first 1/4 to 1/2 is what’s already known from her fiction and Pioneer Girl.

This is tough to get through as an audiobook. It’s well narrated by the voice actor but I am getting mired in all the footnotes.

Got me sucked in and then my library hold lapsed but I will definitely want to continue

Sharp, witty and eye opening. The audiobook is well read so far

So far this has been a waste of time and reads like something written in middle school. There’s an entire chapter in a sandwich shop devoted to ordering food and describing people’s clothes and appearance. I don’t mind a book without plot if there is character development or introspection but this book so far has just been descriptions. Are there no disciplined editors anymore ? How did this make the NYTlist

So far I feel this should be required reading for everyone on earth

This is a dense tome that encompasses the history of USA medicine which was remarkably behind Europe in progress and scientific thought and behavior. it was written before the COVID pandemic and our current medical political issues and yet nothing has changed , we seem to have learned very little about public health and the greater good in the spirit of political success and “ avoiding panic in the masses “

Still struggling with repetition , juvenile writing and editing issues I think it might work better as a book because you can skim then. Audiobook on 1.5 speed but I may need a break
