This reminds me so much of Barbie’s Princess and the Pauper, especially Wren’s first reactions to the princess-y life. ^-^

“Borderville”—HA!
I’m not saying that I’m any better at naming fantasy places, but some of these names just crack me up.

A dear friend gave me this series several years ago, and I’m finally giving it a try. It’s well written, Maya is lovely, and there’s promises of magical creatures. But…. I just don’t care for survival stories. And I have no interest in this at all. But I think my future kids will, and that sounds like fun. So, back to the bookshelf it goes.

Also started this because I needed a break from Throne of Glass. 😅 Hilarious so far and the narrator (Wil Wheaton) is A++.

Started because of rave reviews (for later books in the series) from two friends. And I have been warned that book one is kinda horrible, but I gotta push through to get to book 2. Wish me luck. 😬

*sigh* Why are Holly Jackson’s MCs so aggressively unlikable?

I miss Pippa.

Is it too early to say I’m in love?
Also, this opening heist with Sunho and the world building of the underworld and its factories reminds me of Final Fantasy VII. <3

Half way through, and I am finding this to be delightful! Very quick and easy read, I enjoy the characters and how their relationship is developing, and… it’s just great. :)

I really want to like this book, but I can’t quite put my finger on why I don’t. So, I’m taking a break for now to read something I’m really excited for and I’ll return to this later, either to finish or fully DNF.

So far I’m interested. I’m not captured by the story yet, but it’s not in danger of DNF-ing, just a pause. I’m at the start of chapter 15 of when I come back to this.

I had the most wonderful afternoon on a coffee date with my hubby, working on my embroidery, and listening to Scarlet. ^-^

Oh, still my heart, because the ROMANCE is just so good!

I’m so glad that I picked this up again! It’s hitting just right with the dark academia fall vibes, and it’s a delight to sink into. ^-^

I just finished part 1, and gahhh, it’s so good! Very motivating and very much a wake up call. And now… it’s time for a walk. ;)

I’m not quite feeling this one yet. I don’t care for the writing style and don’t like the main character yet. Most of all, I don’t want to spiral in a series of dissatisfied reads. So hubby said to save it for camping, and I’ll do just that. :)

I’ve been passively eager about reading book 2, but now that I have it, I’m so excited! I forgot how much I enjoyed The Prince & the Apocalypse. I’m so happy that the MC’s BFF and her sister are apart of the adventure this time! I am less thrilled by the feeling that there might be a love triangle… that’s just not okay. So fingers crossed that additional love stories are for her accomplices!

So, hubby has been greatly motivated to tackle our debt problem, get the house in order, etc. It’s really great. He’s been learning a lot (so I’m learning by osmosis), and in general he’s very excited and hopefully about it. We checked this out from the library, and I thought that I might as well listen too. It was a wonderful morning of embroidery and finances :p

I was struggling to care and pay attention, so I changed narrators. Add that with finally meeting our hero, Percy, and his wife, Marguerite, I'm invested now!
(New narrator: Julian Rhind-Tutt. The single chapter by him so far is fabulous.)

So far, I’m enjoying it! This reminds me a lot of Ghosting by Skilton Tash, but I’m not sure if that feeling is accurate or if I simply haven’t read many contemporary adult rom-coms.

I’m glad I dug this out again. I’m feeling very inspired and very chatty about it. Be warned :p

Honestly, I’m just waiting for a dead body to be found so this turns from an okay heist novel to an exciting thriller. What a funny feeling to have.
