The story is very engaging, with lots of alternate history (a favorite theme of mine) and the story premise is solid without an overdose of heavy scientific theory. The narrative is written in the style of H. G. Wells, complete with 1890s mannerisms of speech, and this (surprisingly to me) actually works very well. So far, so good!
