In a former life, I was a prosecutor. I have handled some horrible child abuse cases. I have never wanted to protect a child from her mother this much. It is devastating, enraging, and heartbreaking.

I usually enjoy the audiobooks of author-read memoirs, but the shouting and screaming in this book are distracting. I wish I would have read the print version.

Enjoying this much more now that we’ve moved into the business and creative era of her life.

I’ve resumed this book multiple times. I really want to like it, but find the constant display of privilege off-putting. I’ve always believed that everyone has different struggles in life and that our differences make us interesting. This book makes me wonder if I’ve been wrong about that for more than 40 years.
