Enjoying it tremendously

I’ve done something that I very rarely do. I’ve decided not to continue reading this series. I’m finding that the books are taking place one on top of the other. It feels manipulative. However, I am losing patience. The dialog does a lot to define characterizations but the story has become extremely slow moving. Maybe I will pick it up at another time but for today, I’m done.

I have a difficult time reading books that flip flop from one era to another. This one did it with eh dry other chapter - present day…1944..,. Sometimes I am able to power through but couldn’t with this one even though zi was intensely interested in the subject matter. I ended up skipping ahead to see how it ends.

Protests and welcome home were very tough reads.

Hard to grab me at first. Now all I want to do is get my hands on a dvds of ‘China Beach.’

One of the best historical fictions I have read.

Good so far. Jumps around on the time line and between characters but easy to follow.
