Read this as a teen and remember enjoying the story and the fascinating world of Athas. I had expected it was just nostalgia but was pleasantly surprised; I'm really enjoying it. I am excited; I have 4 more books in the Prism Pentad to go after I finish this one.

I think I have mouthed the words "what the actual f#$@" more times in this book than I have for all books before it combined.

It is like the most uncomfortable and bizarre book I have ever read. Would I give it any trigger warnings? Why yes, it needs ALL the trigger warnings.

But somehow... I just can't stop reading.

I think my brain is melting...
