This is one of the most beautiful stories I've read in a while. Makes my heart ache.

This book continues to be frighteningly prophetic...

"The religious poor who are ignorant, frightened, and desperate to improve their situations are glad to see a "man fo God" in the White House. And that's what he is to them: a man of God."

And then: "The thugs see him as one of them. They envy him. He is the bigger, the more successful thief, murderer, and slaver."

What a fkn time to be reading this book.

Talking about a candidate that won a recent election, who used MAGA in a quote to his supporters: "How much of this nonsense does he believe, I wonder, and how much does he say just because he knows the value of dividing in order to conquer and to rule?"

Big yikes. She wrote this in the 90s btw. The first book (Parable of the Sower) was set in 2024.
