I like the setup and humor but dang, we’re running through so many dystopian YA cliches that I might not be able to finish this. The tiny heroine who is selected for the elite against her will, the handsome men fighting over her, the application and training system that kills off a huge percentage of the youth in it, etc etc etc.

Eh. I get why some people would like this, but I have no urge to finish it. I’ll try another of his, maybe.

I got over halfway through but then trailed off. I enjoyed the plot, the setup, and the writing, but I realized I don't really care what happens to anyone and the library wants it back, so oh well.

I hate the word “quirked.”

I got several chapters in and couldn’t handle it. Great writing, but too stressful for me right now.

I want all the characters to be killed off. Time to give up on this one.

I’m not going to finish this because it’s starting to be about caving and I have claustrophobia. So, the writing is good! It’s too good! Maybe I’ll try it again another day.

Oh nooooo the library only had an audiobook because of the boycott (which I support!). This will be challenging.
