90 year old Canadian woman who is fighting her fate of being sent to a retirement home by reliving her past and you know what one of the best protagonists I’ve experienced in a while. We love a fiercely stubborn woman, so stubborn in fact that it creates a flawed moral outlook, but you can’t help but empathize and be floored by the strength of it. When Canadian lit hits it hits man.

I wish biological history at large was included in history degrees because I never liked biology much except for the historical aspects!! And I care about history that’s not human focused!! Anyways this book is perfect for me it’s got taxonomy hate (knowledge organisation slander!! Yesssss!!!) and cool fun facts about life on earth

I find this quite challenging to read at times, especially the vividness of the overdose records given my own grief relating to this topic. I still think this is an insightful read and just because something is challenging doesn’t mean it’s not worth understanding, particularly in a British context as most of my understanding of drug culture is North American. Insightful so far!
