Gaby is on page 27 of 231 of Elemental: How the Periodic Table Can Now Explain (Nearly) Everything
"In the first few nanoseconds after the big bang, all of reality was a glowing soup of particles, frothing at temperatures millions of times hotter than the Sun. As everything spread out, however, things cooled, particles stabilized, and the elements were born."

Gaby is on page 154 of 320 of The Dysasters (The Dysasters #1)
The beginning of the book was a bit hard to get into at first. Honestly, I didn't like the protagonist much or maybe I couldn't relate, but as the story progressed and Tate was introduced it improved. As you get to know more about Foster you get to like her more. I do like the way the writer has used the elements in a very real way.

I love the way the book uses quotes from a book presumably written by one of the characters when she was in her right mind and respected. Intriguing plot, and the main character Rafferty is a typical cop and yet fun.

"Only Lucrezia, it seems, was seen to have any influence with Cesare." (95)

As I was reading, I remembered some of the reviews of this book and I have to say that I don't agree with those that said complained about the book being more about the other Borgias than Lucrezia.

I actually began reading this on April 18th, when I got to page 15 to realize I started reading her story on what would have been her birthday. Haven't learned anything yet that I didn't know about the family and in particular about Rodrigo. But I do like the way Ms. Bradford writes that Lucrezia "accepted situations as they were and went her own way, bending to circumstances but never defeated by them."

Gaby is finished with The Rules of Magic (Practical Magic, #0.2)
I read, I laughed, I cried, I fell in love and lost. Definitely reading it for a second time and more. But first going to read Practical Magic as if it was written last and not first.

This will be my first time reading a "ghost story". It has an interesting twist that the protagonist has the ability to read violent emotions and follow ghosts. I like the plot of the ghost being so powerful to help shape and change the protagonist. Well, let's see what the conclusion has for us.

I am enjoying reading the third part to Manchester's biography on Churchill.

"Churchill cannot be an alcoholic because no alcoholic could drink that much"

Churchill once summed up his relationship with drink thus: "I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me."

"Looking at his father, whose face was dark with rich purple blood, the whites of his eyes showing red, and the veins knotted at his temples. Cesare had a sudden terrible fear of a future in which there would be no Alexander to protect his family. Then did he realize how much they owed to this man---this man who hitherto had been renowned for his vitality, this man who surely must possess true genius."
