Forty pages in and I won't force myself to keep going. The writing is bland, the story already feels predictable - just not my taste.

Susan Dion is starting The War on Normal People: The Truth About America's Disappearing Jobs and Why Universal Basic Income Is Our Future
I did not get too far into this book as the topic is not of interest to me. If I were 25 or 35 this book would be of vital importance in "what's next" in the job market, the interlocking world economies, etc. My working years are behind me, we are forever on the brink of homelessness. No, I wasn't lazy, I worked, owned homes, and experienced an injury that has put me at the mercy of a merciless government.

Susan Dion is starting The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper
I'm thoroughly enjoying the well researched, informative, and long-buried thread, now exposed, revealing what truly tied these women to a common fate. The story conjures up an experience of peacefully floating in deep water as a gentle wave moves me to a different destination. Ms. Rubenhold is such a smooth wordsmith, that she has changed history and my thinking on the many truths I've accepted that isn't.

Susan Dion is starting Dessa Rose
It only took me a few pages to thoroughly loose interest in Dessa Rose. I am not politically correct which does not mean I don't like you. It does mean that if I don't like you, I'll tell you.
Dessa Rose - the poor black slave girl..... not for me.
