Added this as “Want to read” back in 2016. Took me 9 years to get to it.
So far I’m not psyched about the audiobook narrator.

It’s interesting to get more insight into the accident that was displayed on news worldwide. It’s been a bit repetitive though.
It’s interesting that they added the 911 call.

Oerhört asiatisk när det kommer till kulturen. Skam, heder och att upprätthålla en fasad av normalitet är viktigt. Man får inte sticka ut. Mannen, samt föräldrar är de som dikterar hur man ska agera och leva. Det är inte okay att avvika från deras vilja. Kvinnor är i princip inte värda något, utöver att agera som en stillsam, plikttrogen städerska/husfru.

Chapter 29: To tell their part of the story, make their mark in history. What would that be?

A rather boring chapter, where not much happens.

Chapter 28: Babel still stands tall as the world around them crumbles. A lot of politics, war-pros and those against it. How to best communicate and get their message across, allies and those against them.

Chapter 27: Holding the ground, setting up tactics and protections. Removing resonance and watching the city halt and crumble.

Chapter 26: Babel. Lines being drawn. Claiming the tower and telling the world about the secret war waging upon them.

Book V ; Chapter 25: Interlude, Letty.
Letty tells us more about her past and her way of thinking.

Chapter 25: A very short chapter in comparison to the rest of the book.
An aha-moment.

Chapter 24: A lot happens, and yet not that much. It’s interesting how little I truely care for the characters. The magical gaol at Oxford reveals a lot of information. A lot of tension.

Chapter 23: Masterplans and setting actions to motion.
“And then - broke the world”.

Chapter 22: Tunnels and the Old Library, staying hidden in plain sight. Introducing the Hermes Society and diving into its practices and beliefs, members and prior participants.

Chapter 21: Back at Oxford, faculty party of the year. Trying to blend in and act as if nothing has happened.

Chapter 20 : Sharing and ‘over sharing’. Rummaging through documents at the house reveals a worrying fact. War is looming and they need to do something.

Book IV ; Chapter 19. Nine weeks at sea and contemplating what their future entails. Cohorts growing closer but also losing their marbles.

Chapter 18: The hurriedly decision to travel back to England. Chaos on land and chaos at sea, everything exploding at once. A short but sweet chapter.

Chapter 17: Canton, trade deals, translation and opium dens. Meeting the Chinese commissioner and talking about economy.
- How is it fair that England has banned opium in Europe, but they want it to be legal for them to sell to the Chinese?

Chapter 16: Canton. Sailing off to help out with trades, months earlier than the curriculum actually calls for. Coincidence? Relationships are strained and the cohorts barely speak to one another.

Interlude - Ramy. A glimpse into Ramys life in Calcutta.

Chapter 15: Morse code introduced at Oxford, forcing, or maybe demanding, Babels students to work a few hours a week at the telecom office. And the unraveling of H.S. during a nightly mishap.

Chapter 14: The ball. Yet again racism faces the cohorts. Emotions are all over the place. And a stroll through the graveyard.

Chapter 13. Exams and whatnot. Mental anguish, stress and self doubt.

Chapter 12:
Seeing the effects of placing silver-work at the Mills, both economically and from an employment standpoint.
First look at the test results from 4th years finals. Public reporting of the results and what that might entail.
Lack of trust in Griffin.

Chapter 11:
Learning about the basic mending and upkeep of silver-work. Anthony Ribben’s disappearance.
