I really want to enjoy this book. It's really informative as a doctoral dissertation should be. And that's the reason I don't enjoy it as I should, it's basically a dissertation in book form. Won't recommend this to the general public unless you're a student or a very serious history buff. I guess how 'dry' the blurb on the back should've been a warning for me. Or maybe I'm just too dense to enjoy this book?
