Not me getting emotional over the characters talking about how they deal with feeling like they're a disappointment to their families ahhhh

This book has some of the best and most emotional dealings with the Forsaken I've ever read omg. Turalyon and Faol reuniting got me all teary eyed.

If I weren't so close to the end this might be a DNF. But I'm trying, I really am.

Well, starting this before bed was an absolute mistake. :P

The way the one main fat character is described in this book is... kind of yikes. I'm enjoying this book's premise but this is like several paragraphs of just talking about how gross this character is. Agh.

This book is making me jumpy. I feel like I might have to finish this in one go even though it's 6am.

Oh this just got SUDDENLY spooky. I'm loving this so far.

Well this book certainly wastes no time with the excitement. I'm intrigued already.

This book is absolutely destroying me and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to sleep when I'm crying so much. This would be a read-in-one-go easily if it weren't 6.30am. Oops. But also, ow, my heart hurts.

Sometimes I let a book sit for a while and then kick myself later for not reading it sooner. This is one of those books right now.

I chose to focus more on writing than reading this year, but looking at all the amazing books coming out this year, I'm already regretting this decision. Argh.

I'm not sure if this is a Rick Riordan thing or just a series thing, but this is the second book where the plot so far could be summarized as "main character has lots of questions and no one answers any of them." I like these stories but there are much better ways to create suspense than this.

I feel like this one is really rushing to get started... it's not a glaring issue but it feels like some important things are just being explained away in a sentence or two. Also there's like a metric ton of foreshadowing and it makes me not want to put this book down because I CAN FEEL WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN.

I want to watch The Haunting of Hill House, but I also have the book on my desk, and I'm not sure if I should read that first...

A post on Twitter earlier made me realize that I can't think of a single book I've read, ever, with a biromantic ace character. Apparently there's one in What If It's Us, which I'll get to eventually, but it's kind of a Feeling to realize I've never actually read a single character like that before. I've been struggling with that part of my own identity lately and some more representation would be so good.

This is already spooky as heck. I really like these characters already but what is happening.

I swear if Oran turns out to be a bad guy after all I'm going to set... something on fire. Not the book, but SOMETHING.

I can't get over how compelling and just wonderful this book is so far, I love this so much.

I'm a little confused as to the level of tech in this book (there's a mix of old and futuristic tech I'm not sure I understand) but so far this is GREAT. I love all the girls and the constant action and all the relationships and just how strong they are. So good.
