My heavens this girl is an idiot...and the only interesting characters are Arnaud's mother and the attorney. *sigh*

This book has been slow going for me. Not really feeling chemistry or the attraction really. Somany rules of the day or being ignored; as an illegitimate child, there is no way she would be having a come out ball with the ton find a husband! Also, I find it irritating that she keeps running off from her protectors...

Is it just me, or has there been no description of Sophie or Lydia? Honestly, other than discussion of blue eyes, I'm not even convinced I've read a description of Arnaud. The characters have no form in my head. That's irritating...

21 pages in, and this book is playing "obscure word bingo" right and left...I hate that. Plus, it changes POV and location from one paragraph to the next with no warning, making it confusing!

Pride and Predjudice was a light and witty take on social mores and expectations of the time. This is the antithesis of that...dark, angsty, and brutal. Things better start looking up soon, or this is gonna be a dnf!

Good God this book is exhausting. Too much going on and I just figured out that I skipped book 7!

I see no basis for Roe's attraction (called her witty? She's barely said anything to him and what she has said has been in anger or exasperation). Good thing this is only 6 hours long...and only $1.99. :(

Holy cow...this narrator is odd. Its like she's trying to slowly pronounce every syllable. So distracting!

Oh no...within the first 15 minutes it was her thinking how hot he is and now, almost halfway through, half of that half is one of them thinking about the other. Plus terrible narration, to boot. Shoot me now, please. :(

OMG...less than 20 minutes in and this thing is HORRIBLE so far!

Avg over 4 stars...really? I can barely stick with this. Shallow characters, obvious plot devices, unsupportable or unbelievable emotions, and the main character has been a complete bitch for the first 30% of the book. I haven't seen any redeemable qualities about her yet. Oh...and its looking like everyone loves her regardless of their species and I have no idea why. Hmmm...
