Glad I decided to read this again. I now remember why I used to love Halle’s books- Because they used to actually be good. Before she decided to become the goth{er?} Laurel K Hamilton but with even worse writing somehow, she used to actually do a *lot* of character development that made you excited and impatient to read the next book in the series. Which I’m going to do.

Re-read, her books have gotten pretty terrible lately so I want to remember why I loved her before which was because of this series. Also she was real fucking rude to me when I said I was sad she was done writing about these characters. Which tbh totally colors my opinion of her books now so I am being biased cus she hurt my feels. I’m petty.
