Katy is 25% done with Project Hail Mary

Reading the book after I've seen the movie a couple of times. Let me just say, Ryan Gosling IS Ryland Grace. I can hear his voice whenever I read his inner monologue.

Katy is 25% done with Dungeon Crawler Carl (Dungeon Crawler Carl, #1)

Hmmm. I'm only a quarter of the way through, but it is 100% plot-driven so far. No character evolution whatsoever, only fight scenes, one after the other. And SO MANY EXPLANATIONS ugh. That's annoying.

Oooh I can tell this is going to be fun. It's like the Hunger Games mixed with Ready Player One, but even more ruthless if that's possible.

Katy is 50% done with Abaddon’s Gate (The Expanse, #3)

Hmmm. This one seems harder to get into than the others. The scene inside the sphere when Jim sort of "disappears" but not really was just too weird. I'm sure it was done on purpose, but I cannot foresee it making sense later.

Katy is 25% done with Leviathan Wakes

This is pretty intense and riveting so far. I am hoping for some more character development as I go, as it's mostly plot-driven up to now.

Katy is 50% done with Yellowface

Wow, I cannot put this down. The main protagonist, who also happens to be the villain, is so infuriating. Her hypocrisy and entitlement are out of this world. I can't wait for her to get her just desserts.

Katy is 80% done with The Measure

Wow. This is so clever. And it would be easy to miss how profound it really is, because the story is so good. This novel questions our human nature on so many levels. I can't put it down.

Katy is 50% done with Gilead (Gilead, #1)

Okay. This is gorgeously written, but painfully, painfully slow. I like how the main character thinks, analyzes, and evaluates concepts, if only he was not almost exclusively talking about faith.
