Oh wow. Writers and Lovers was pretty good, but this is absolutely phenomenal.

I can't put it down!

This is a very weird novel so far.

This is absolutely heartbreaking so far.

I am not loving this so far, but chapter 14, "It's not what you say, but how you say it" is very interesting. And relevant, especially for a too-fast talker like me.

Oof, for those who enjoy a slow burn, you will not be disappointed with this!

Oof. Everybody I know seems to love this novel, but I find it quite tedious so far. I'm a third of the way through and finally it seems that we are getting somewhere.

Oof. I loved There There, and the writing is as compelling in this one, but while There There has a slow narrative build up, this is really, really depressing so far.

Hmmm. I imagine that this novel is supposed to be about Malik, but each chapter switches between narrators, which jars me out of the story every time. Even though the narrator is named at the beginning of each new chapter, I still find it confusing. This novel is definitely not as good as the first one. To be true to its title, Malik should narrate the entire story. Or it should be an omniscient narrator.

Still meh.

Hmmm. This is just meh so far.

Un très beau roman jusqu'ici, très triste, mais vraiment bien écrit. Je profite de chaque page.
