Yes this is Hobb at her finest! I forgot that I was highlighting everything reading the first Farseer trilogy, & im doing it again😅

Just read the first paragraph, it’s Fitz pov.
It’s been so longgg😭 I missed him 😩

500 pages in and finally the events are picking up. Pray for me to finish it.

I used to sympathize with Wintrow, being taken from his monastery, forced to lead a sailor’s life that he wants no part of. His religious and moral ideals made sense .. but now he just pisses me off. Let me smack him, what do you mean it isnt your fault, it SURE IS!

This book is taking forever to finish …
It wasn’t enjoyable to read at the beginning and it certainly not enjoyable at the end, in fact it’s getting worse.

None of the characters are doing well, it’s going downhill for everyone. And yet we’re still at the first book.

“Damn you to the bottom of the briny deep. One by one, you’ve driven them away. You took my captain’s place. You drive his daughter, the companion of my sleeping days, from my decks. And now your own son has fled your tyranny and left me friendless. Damn you.”

I desperately need this book to be better!

Not sure why some reviews said that Liveship is better than the Farseer trilogy.
25% in and I’m still not hooked in by the characters nor the events so far …

to what extent will they wrong this boy in the name of loyalty?? It’s 4am and im too upset & sleepy to finish the book.

I’m nearing the end of the book, & so far no solution is there for either Regal nor the Red Ships. Plus, the White Prophet already ‘seen’ the end of the Six Duchies, & the betrayal of Fitz by someone he dearly trusts…
so Im predicting King Verity isnt coming back at all. We’ll either find him dead or too weak to make the journey back. In fact I believe this quest to save the Duchies will fail.

This vision he’s lost in is taking so long … please someone slap him awake.

Oh Fitz 💔 How much will you sacrifice? How much will they keep asking of you?

The amount of times this boy is getting caught, is NOT good for my nerves … 😤

I gotta say Robin Hobb is really good at writing about ‘loneliness’ … my heart aches reading~ 🥲
The sense of abandonment that Fitz is experiencing is just heart wrenching. I thought it was bad at book2, now it’s just WORSE.

i dont have words for what’s happening. Things are getting more and more complicated 😩
There’s just so many things to worry about~ Dont know how Fitz manages it all

Things are going so well that im afraid everything will come tumbling down

Ch15 - I cant believe Burrich kicked Galen’s ass. 🤣 I loved this chapter to bittssss. Burrich love for Fitz is beyond words.

“the dark man dragged the skinny man all the way up to the Witness Stones.”
“… and left the man lying there, with the Stones witness to his whimpering and bleeding.”

Love the mentor/father relationship between Fitz and Burrich. The guy really cares for Fitz and it shows. 🥹 When he was worried Fitz was sick and lonely, trying to feed him food, be more around him, & keep him more occupied from his thoughts.

Also this part 💔
“I’m just so alone.”
“Alone? Fitz I’m right here. How can you say you’re alone?”

“I grew up fatherless and motherless in a court where all recognized me as a catalyst. And a catalyst I became.”

Thorn & Ophelia are SO rare … but they never fail to give me 🦋🦋🦋
But im afraid I need more than that !

I usually dont care about books specifically written to show the pov of the male lead. But I desperately need one right now, what on earth is happening in Mr Thorns head!?
