A really interesting take on the rises and falls and rises again of female friendship throughout early life.

Her singing voice sounds like Jemaine Clement.

It's fascinating how much is misunderstood, and how much I didn't know going into this book. I also love the line "a glass is just a cauldron on a stick."

Wow. While this series has its problematic moments, this book is CAPTIVATING. I've been on the edge of my seat the entire time.

The first two chapters are brilliant. Love how the style is unique from the previous two books, engaging and immediately engage the audience with high stakes.

Jackie is reading A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Since I have never seen the play performed before, I found all the different characters and similar plot lines hard to follow. That being said, I'm taking a Shakespeare course online hosted by Wellesley College, and it not only helped me better understand the plot, but understand the display of domineering patriarchy.

Highly recommend the free Harvard course that walks you through this text. There are so many facets of story structure and the hero's journey that I'm learning, on top of the philosophical exploration. Can't wait to see where this course takes me!

This is honestly such a good late winter read. You can take a mental hike in the beautiful (summer) outdoors while connecting with Cheryl's life story.
