Reading for book club! Was skeptical of it being too pop science -y but good so far!

Restarted on audio. I lost interest in the ebook, so hopefully audio goes better!

Reading for book club!

Meh already way less excited than when i started it. Too many casual sexual assault instances. I get it it's a memoir and those things happened but they're thrown in and glossed over and she acts like it didn't really bother her.. not my flavor. I am particularly sensitive

I love Becky Chambers' worlds, but the writing always underwhelms me. It's idealistic to the point of feeling unrealistic. The characters are all too "good". I think this cozy sci-fi thing isn't my main jam but i still enjoy her stories and will continue to listen. I like the world of this even better than her first 4 books

This wasn't even on my TBR (Pure Colour is), but i started the audiobook on a whim and I'm really enjoying!

Life ceremony- i don't know how to rate this one... All i can say is my face spent a lot of time scrunched in distaste. Probably exactly as Murata intended.

Just keeps getting more complicated, in the best way, but getting anxious to know how it'll all wrap up!

I love Sayaka Murata's brain

If anyone can write a short story collection I'll enjoy, it's gotta be Sayaka Murata. Her other two books are favorites of mine so i have to at least give this a shot!

I could do with many, many less "touches that lingered a moment longer than necessary" but otherwise really enjoying the politics, lore, and world building!
