This book is long.

Enjoying this is small bites. I lost interest about 25 pages back, but Im almost done.

For a long while the book is a lot of unconnected scenes and a plethora of long names. Then. Then Chapter 4, the story takes a vicious turn on pages 85-90. Holly Hannah. What just happened? This is very well written, if not a tad flowery, which is fine. So far, so fun.

Finally going to sit with this for a long while. It's an oldie, and apparently an "absolute must read". Been looking for something long and lush to sink into. Here's in hope this fits the bill (and the hype).

Must. Not. Read. In. One. Sitting.... slow down.

I just started this, but when the first sentence is "Good news, Heavens", announces my dipsh*t husband.", the tone has clearly been set. This won't get much more than 3 stars from me, profanity laced pages turn me off, and I dind it to be lazy writing. I'm not a prude, and goodness knows I have a mouth, a couple of times is fine, but it's every couple of sentences and it just wears me out.

It has become obvious that I'm not going to complete my challenge this year. I suppose I could tear through the super short books again, but that feels like cheating. Alas, maybe I have a gift book or two for someone I've not gone through yet. Hmmm...

I am loving this so far. Her book "Clytemnestra", is also fabulous.

This book is a dream. Reads like a dream, written in dreamy sentences with descriptions that put you Eigth Row Center in the Inverted Theatre. So far I am impressed with the writing style, in hope the rest of the story matches it.
