It has become obvious that I'm not going to complete my challenge this year. I suppose I could tear through the super short books again, but that feels like cheating. Alas, maybe I have a gift book or two for someone I've not gone through yet. Hmmm...

I am loving this so far. Her book "Clytemnestra", is also fabulous.

This book is a dream. Reads like a dream, written in dreamy sentences with descriptions that put you Eigth Row Center in the Inverted Theatre. So far I am impressed with the writing style, in hope the rest of the story matches it.

This is just not holding my attention. Nor is it what the blurb described. I thought I was getting an adventure, instead I'm getting a very long, very boring recap of King Arthur's life. Where's the adventure? Where's the Quest? Okay, I'm going to plug on in hope that the story is going to go somewhere eventually.

Not quite the book I was expecting.

Completely changed my mind. Elvoir is a wretched *itch, Skukd should have killed her or at least maimed her when she had the chance. The whole plot at this point is just stupid and I'm terribly disappointed at the ridiculousness. The first book is good, and this just goes sideways in a very bad turn. Think maybe I'll just read the Orka and Varg / Biorr chapters. Elvar, should not be a "hero" here, but enemy, yep.

Well, here we are book two, and it's already looking like the editing is lackadaisical, again. A glaring error in the index refers to Orka, as her husband's husband. Come on! The next sentence corrects it and refers to her as Thorkel's wife. It's right there, fix that. Oy! Not a big deal but frustrating. The story is or rather has me riveted. I must read a d find out. Points for sucking me in emotionally. :)

I admit, I'm totally sucked into this story, the mysteries are too many (and in some cases interesting) to not find out what happens. Orka, I love her, she's a great character. Varg is a mix of indecision and empathy for his situation. Elvar, and this is just my opine, but she's more 'Evoir" from Assassin's Creed Valhalla than her own character, but she a strong female lead with a goal and the means to get there.
