I’m gonna say it…BN needs to pick better monthly picks.
This feels like longest audio book ever and I even listen to The Terror. And I still have 3 hours to go.
Either be a dark academia book or a fantasy book. This is terrible as both.

I’m 11 chapters in and I know I need to lower my expectations.

So this trade paperback is smaller than normal trade paperbacks and it’s weird holding it?
Besides that…I’m enjoying this so far.

Starting this now for book club before I hit I’m in the inventory hell period of my life.

This isn’t as bad as A Heart for Christmas but I don’t think book ‘advents’ are for me.
Plus I’m pissed that this was published 8ish years ago and it got repackaged as a Count down to Valentine’s Day book. It looks cute but the stories aren’t great so far.

I’m two chapters and if this really turns out to be a bullshit Cinderella retelling…I’m gonna rage and ask for a manager.

At close to 600 pages, I think it is best to start this early so I’m not stressing about finishing it in time for September’s book club.
