This read is too frustrating to count as cozy

This doesn't feel very cozy right now, it's a rather dark and upsetting start for a supposed cozy fantasy

Feels very tone-deaf when the book goes on about inclusion and respect but then conveniently kicks someone's discomfort to the curb (e.g. Simon fainting during the drag prep but still being forced to do it)

It brought him closer, pressing his thighs against my shins.Distraction was an understatement. But it was working.I tried to make the movement as casual as possible, parting my legs as I focused just a little more on his lip — his mouth.

Until his foot caught on the sidewalk, and he scuffed the bottom of his shoe in the subtlest of stumbles.I might’ve smiled if I wasn’t so freaking nervous.His expression looked faintly awestruck as he slowed to a stop in front of me.

I quietly cleared my throat and Dean glanced up, brushing a hand over his combed back, black hair. One stubborn strand fell loose as his eyes landed on me. For a split second, his gaze remained indifferent, before realization struck and his brows rose as his eyes did so over me. He studied my ankle and then dragged his eyes to my face as he drew back on his cigarette. "At least you didn't run the dumpster into me again." He flicked ash to the ground.I grimaced. "You remember that?"

For a second, his eyes came to Kira and me. The casual glance heightened my anxiety and triggered my fight, flight, or make-a-fool-of-myself response
