I loved the original books in the series and also enjoyed the movies, though not near as much as the books. This was like a throwback - being able to enter the series again from before the start. My only complaint would be the repeated poetry throughout. I get the point, but I skip it to get back into plot versus prose / stylistic abstraction.

Not digging it - long and a bit repetitive. Not at all like the previous series.
