Dec 1975- Chapter 2

What would happen if an autistic (?) childless, unmarried lady and an incel got together? This is funny. Way better than the other book.

Danskammer (sp??) beach! It’s the same world as The Change.

So I had to look it up but Willow is supposed to be 20 which is old for school so that’s weird but I feel better about if spicy parts. Still think Grey sounds too old for her though.

Also, I don’t understand why Willow would have to seduce the headmaster other than for the book to be a spicy book. Is he the only one that knows where he bones are?

I find it creepy that Grey is a 1000 year old guy that is in a older man’s body and Willow is 16. At least Edward was an immortal teenager.

The trigger warnings also say the MMC is a domineer a-hole. *sigh* shouldn’t have spent money on this audiobook. I’m only finishing third for book club. Dark romance is not my thing ☹️

Chapter 22

I don’t think I’d let the guy I just met sleep in the same bed as my daughter

1) I hate pet names— sugar plum?!?
2) insta- love is lazy writing
3) but he is not a dick so I love that even if I find it very unbelievable

Chapter 6

Chapter 11- this is cracking me up

Chapter 15- the angst needs to be cut by 1/2 and the book would be better

Chapter 9- When the conundrum which of the two amazing lives would you want to live in, there’s no tension to the plot and it’s kind of boring.

Chapter 4-I’m having a hard time getting into it. Glad I didn’t get it as a BOTM

It took almost 200 pages for the Tainos to show up. The book is kind slow for a middle graded book. This should have been introduced much sooner.

Chapter 13- I’m bored and already over my 3 week travel book time allotment. I might pick it back up some it’s on kindle unlimited but we’ll see.

Chapter 48

I think Clover & Eleanor Oliphant would be friends.

Chapter 12- this is definitely more spice than plot but I like how sweet Ansel is.

Ugh. This is a really slow YA “thriller”

DNF- This was a book club pick but I was just so bored I'm giving up. It's so slow! I hate historical fiction but I REALLY hate slow historical fiction. I even tried listening at 2X speed and that didn't help.

Chapter 18

Chapter 90- I’m 5 and 1/2 hours in and I’m so bored! How did this book get 5 stars from so many people. I don’t think I can finish 9 more freaking hours of this by book club in a couple days. My will is shot.
