Chapter 3- Like A wrecking ball

Earl of Tennessee- that’s one about a neighbor taking home women but it’s not explicit. Trying to figure out why this would be a banned book.

Chapter 4

So Max didn’t even remember English when he got hit by a taxi, hasn’t been to school in a year while he was a Hellborn, but he’s smart enough for advanced classes now?

There is absolutely no character development so far. The story springs straight into action. Definitely a middle grade book.

They are looking into my original theory and there is 30% of the book left so it can’t be right. 😒

So hard to put down! I have a good guess for the murder though and 100% sure I know who Ethan really is.

Alice’s story is so boring. Sabine/Maria is much more exciting though this book could be 10 times shorter.

“Whose non-existence is necessary to the self conception of a place.”

Part 1-Chapter 3- Ugh I hate this narrator’s voice. This is a kindle book so maybe I’ll try reading it instead.

Unicorns in the Bible- this is the first point of the book and he’s already lost me. He cites Numbers 23:22 & Isaiah 34:7 as referring to unicorns but the NVSEU & NIV versions say nothing about unicorns. What is he talking about? Also- the narrator is awful

Is this a vampire book?

Love vs Care in families

Color Blind Conservatism-
1) seeing “no race” but white is the default
2) believing the government was spray tanning care of racism so no action needed to taken individually or by the church

Billy Graham - “Only the second coming of Jesus can end the sin of racism.” That’s very convenient.

1:00- communism & Christianity. Dang- it’s the same playbook

45 min- family group text

This is SO slow. Nothing is happening. Definitely more of a mystery than a thriller.

“If we were truly a Christian nation we’d take care of the poor & sick and let churches bail out Wall Street.”

“Imagine how you would feel if the Lord created a whole universe just for you.”- this seems to sum up Natalie’s attitude for the whole book

She’s hot for the father-in-law!?!? Ew

“If your church doesn’t tell you to love your enemies, but keeps on telling you who those enemies are, you’re not in a church.”

Benny Abbott-Day 2- Joy’s street is a beehive
