I chose this book because I loved The Firekeeper’s Daughter, and I’m glad I did. I enjoyed the story, appreciated learning more about Indigenous culture, and thought it showed a real portrayal of how poorly Indigenous people are treated in the foster care system.
The plot had maybe too many twists and turns, and some character connections felt a bit forced at times. Still a good read! 3.75 stars
