I’m actually hating this book. The characters are cringeworthy and the narration is just as bad. It’s monotonously dragged out with unnecessary details and dire dialogues.

This book is sloooow and I’m still on the fence whether it will land on the DNF SHELF. I’m liking the locations, but none of the characters til now. Should I stick with it?

I’m intrigued as to how this will pan out after yet another four hours. I’m pretty sure it’s all quite obvious, and have been thinking this since 20% in. I’m enjoying the book and the style (kinda Peter James’ Roy Grace series), but there doesn’t seem to be so much mystery to the crime. We’ll see

This narrator, Louise Brealey, reads like an 8-year-old 🤷🏼‍♂️. This is going to be a tough one to get through.

Finding this a bit boring tbh. One bonus is that James seems to have completely forgotten about Bruno. For the time being 😬

First impressions. I cannot imagine what possessed the audiobook producers to commission a black voice for this book. I cannot get into this imagining Arnold or Willis 😠

After 6 hours I am a mere 1/4 in, and not sure if I’ll have the patience to finish this one. I have no idea how a sub 400-page book turns into a 23-hour audiobook! Repetitive, slow and the usual southern stuff from JG 🙄

I so want to give up on this but after coming so far I can’t bring myself to. I’m finding this extremely boring and couldn’t care less about any of the characters, but just can’t throw in the towel after 30 hours of listening. I’m not expecting any Eureka moment but just want this interminable flight to land so I can get off!

Well this is going nowhere slowly!!!
I’m not a big fan of the prequels in the Reacher series but I’m finding this one particularly tedious. I’m almost convinced that Child has lost his edge or I’ve just moved on...

Jeez, this is slow and extremely boring till now. Although it was recommended to me, I’m thinking this is not my kind of book. Let’s hope it picks up pace as there’s still 10 hours to go in this audiobook 😳

I’m on the audiobook and almost gave up on the first chapter which was so awfully done. Then we get to the second chapter and the introduction of seven or more characters... not a good start to this seemingly lame book.
It’s never a good sign when you start looking at how long is left after just having started!

I'm always shocked when after 2 books out of three in a trilogy the publishers change narrators for an audiobook. Especially since the first narrator was so good. I really hope this doesn't effect the quality of this book; until now I've rated its predecessors 5/5...

Disappointing. It's been a long time since I last read an Elvis Cole novel, with about a hundred books in the meantime, and I guess I expected more. But I'm finding the characters very 'thin' and the story very uninspiring. This audiobook is narrated in a mediocre way and the voice for Pike is awful.

What is this, Honey I shrunk the Students?! A lot of research has gone into some science but didn't Crichton know mics have to be turned on at a mixer and/or wireless receiver? I was enjoying this but I think this will be yet another unfinished book by this author; I'm not sure how much I can handle of these unrealistic dialogues. Let's see how it progresses.

I fear that Billingham is going to ruin this by narrating it himself. Writers write, narrators narrate! I've had bad experiences in the past with authors trying to narrate their own audio books but ffs, leave it to the pros like Paul Thornley.

This is slow! I'm on the verge of giving Stephen White's books a very wide berth. After the last debacle this one is not helping in swaying the pendulum back in favour... I sure hope it picks up and that 'something' happens in the last half.

Despite the other reviews on here, I am finding this to be one slow book! It may be due to Dick Hill's narration, but I am seriously struggling to keep going on this one.

I don't get this. Is it a 'documentary' of e-crime? The date line's all over the place and there's no 'story' let alone thrill. What am I missing?

Where are the thrills??? Not so well written and reads like a history lesson to the Internet. Hope it picks up as I had high expectations.

I never understand how a series can change narrator in the audio version from one book to the next, especially when the first one was so good. The narrator on this one could well ruin the book. I didn't even understand the accused in the court case due to his awful pronunciation of the name compared to the previous book. Hope it grows on me.

I'm really hoping that Deaver's The Blue Nowhere is a good one. I've just realised that the last 3 or so books I've gotten through have been pretty crap! Child's Personal was by far the worst ever Reacher book; Grisham's Gray Mountain was even more boring than Sycamore Row; Innocent in Vegas was a badly written, typo-full pos and even the Leather novels that I missed before were disappointing.
