I really love this book. I listened/read it last year and have been on the hunt for something similar since the leaves started to turn their autumnal colors. Nothing compares so far. It’s perfect for October. I suspect it will become an annual read for me.

I’m not enjoying this on audiobook. Rolling it into DNF, but will pick up later in physical form.

Did not expect to enjoy this one as much as I am!

I’m bored. Looking forward to discussing at book group to see if my friends can change my mind about this one.

I just can’t do it. It’s headed to my DNF list for real this time. I gave it a good try. Got farther than I did on my first attempt, but it’s starting to feel like a dreaded chore. Definitely not my cup of tea. It does make me happy for those who love it, though. And for the author who is having such a big moment with such a unique body of work. It’s wildly popular amongst my friends and family.

Giving this another try, because everyone loves it. Not listening this time (that was a bit much for me) so we’ll see if reading it is better.

Only 6 chapters in and loving this. Kate Dicamillo is a master storyteller.

This is quite slow. I’m nine chapters in, and we’re going round and round with the same family drama. I need to know why the mom is so cold! What’s her story? Can we get there already?

I am really loving this. So many beautiful quotes within this book. I’m also really enjoying Meryl Streep as the narrator!

How does someone so blatantly rip off other books and actually get published? Pretty sure I’ve read “this book” before.

Oh my goodness! I thought my student said Mama, but he said LLAMA! 😂 I’ve been worried about Aven’s mom for weeks, lol.

This narrator is my favorite! She has Aven down so well. I’m excited to listen/read this second book in the series. Delightful right from the start! Though I did get a spoiler from one of my students 😢

I can’t put this down!
