So far I like it. But with people and artificial intelligence going to Jupiter to investigate a strange phenomenon I can't get the phrases "HAL, open the pod bay doors HAL" "Sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" out of my head.

So far this reads like a d&d narrative. not that impressed. will give it another chapter or so. if no real plot, in the trash it goes.

John Scalzi has a way of taking you somewhere you've never been. Each time, I thoroughly enjoy the ride. This book is no exception. Having a great time.

If it doesn't get better I am going up on this soon. so far, hoopla not justified.

writing is juvenile and a little too much teenage girl angst, 2.5 stars so far.

This was is a collection of short stories and editorials written at the height of the Cold War just as Reagan began his "star Wars" initiative. The media today disregards how serious the threat of nuclear annihilation was at the time. Today's youth are not taught about ti in any in-depth manner. This books gives the reader a glimpse at how it actually felt to live under that shadow of fear.

Formulaic, a once famous racer discredited for gambling becomes a smuggler. Unknowingly gets involved in intergalactic intrigue. Still, it's a lot of fun.

Disjointed at times. Nuclear explosions that have no impact on troops a few kilometers from the epicenter? hmmm

The Breakfast section was disappointing. The lunch section is a fantastic collection of hearty and healthy soups

I was expecting "secret" fast food recipes from famous restaurants. I was disappointed, at first. Actually a collection of foods that can be made fast.

The recipes are great, but the shinning star are anecdotes about growing up on a TV set with Michael Landon as your "pa"

The challenge is to read something you disliked in school. I'm not paying $10 for ebook. Borrowed hardcopy from SacLib.

So far, so good, he is more of an inspector in this book.

Exciting, riveting. Better than the first two.

I like the story so far. BUT, the grammar is atrocious at times. AND, somethings make no sense. He was a military pilot 10 years ago, see proloque, but he doesn't know standard flying formations.??

Dr. Yoshida is back.

Interesting, Ben Bova's voice describing an historical setting and character rather than an alien environment and space traveler. I like it.

To me this is the best of the quartet. Each book explores love. The love of self, the love of daughter, father, son, friend.etc.. Perhaps the author relates to this subject, the love of a mother, more strongly. It is certainly a powerful story of a mother willing to go through impossible hardship for the love of her son.

I enjoy the four subplots, wondering how they are going to converge keeps my interest high.

The stream of conscience style is always difficult to read at first, but it is moving along nicely now.
