Not sure why they call this a compact edition. The font is large, the translation is complete, they have illustrations and supplementary essays… but hey, I won’t Diogenes on this hill 😏

My 2 and 4 year olds will listen to 5 straight pages of this before bed, so I suppose that on some level that’s a win for the translator!

Already this one's shaping up to be a banger. The argument is, in part, that while there may be revolutions in science in terms of *content*, the practices, the form, in which that content is discovered and delivered has been virtually continuous since the Greek discovery of deduction as an objectively valid logical form.
