There were some interesting female characters in the first book, but this book they're boring, unimportant, and stupid caricatures or ridiculous male-fantasy idiots that have never existed in the history of humanity, so far at least. Also all the military and political wrangling is boring. Luo Ji and the tiny glimpse of the video game are at least interesting.
