Happy release day to my most anticipated book of the year! I am so, so ready for the sixth instalment of the Veronica Speedwell mystery series. More Veronica and Stoker, please.

This is beautifully written. It is lyrical and melodic despite being so bleak.

What an appropriate time to be reading this novel. I can't believe this was written over 60 years ago but still is relevant.

That last chapter was amazing. It reminded me of an instrumental piece that starts off quiet and dainty and ends in a loud crescendo.
This book is too good already and there's still so much more to come...

Finally, I can return to this novel. I finished both
Sense and Sendability
and
The Awakening
this week, so I haven't devoted much time to this one here. I'm really enjoying it so far, though.
