Loving magic imagined in this way.

It’s like I’m 12 again, lost in a Nancy Drew mystery. I love it!!

I skipped ahead at about the 60% mark because I figured out the premise, or the main spoiler. I will most likely go back and fill in the blanks. It is right up my alley, but I thought the author could have gotten there sooner after giving me the Easter eggs I needed to surmise the underlying plot. Yet, I am enjoying the play.

Story has me spellbound. For the first time in my life (avid reader since early youth), I find myself thinking of those who came before me on this reading journey — some illustrious, many/most normal Joes like me. At 37%, I can hardly bear not to cheat and skip to the end. But I shall not!

Haven’t yet read a word but am looking so forward to the ebb and flow, the easy southern storytelling by one of my favorite authors.

I know high drama is coming down the pike, but I am so enjoying the story as it is unspooling — healing from mortal injury and bringing Temps Clair up to snuff.

Full confession: Alice Hoffman is one of my very fave authors. I am only 62% in, but I absolutely love all the Easter eggs she has left us. I haven’t yet read her note to readers; am hoping she nods to all the hidden gems.

Great plot but writing is off, a little repetitive, with annoying editorial errors — the correct spelling is ViCAP and AFIS became IAFIS which is now NGI (Next Generation Identification). Murder Club chicks have a much easier way of conversing, not as stilted as this, with all the inside jokes which seem lacking in this installment. I swore I’d not continue after the last book, but here I am.

Witty repartee and smart-assery between Lucas and Virgil (that f*ckin’ Flowers) abounds. Loving this installment.

Halfway through, I am thoroughly enjoying this story. The writing style is unique but embracing it allows for a more fantastical read. The halfway mark also brings an unexpected twist. Looking forward to finding how the story ends.

Thoroughly engaging exploration of relationships, the meaning of intimacy, and how love survives.

I’m gonna give this one a shot. But as a woman who was dumped, by her husband, for her best friend, it sucked to read him telling his WIFE that he loved her. I can tell you that feels like mind games and gaslighting. So I’m going to try. Not sure how far I shall get.

I know this is petty, but as a medical transcriptionist by trade, I’m just about driven to drink over this (Kindle version) error: schizoAffective, not, for the love of God, schizoEffective! Uuuuugggggggggg!

Loving this book. The Giver of Stars was good, but I think this one is by far the better tale. So far it’s earning ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

This is my fave of the series thus far. It’s a bit faster-paced and I’m enjoying the development of individual characters and their relationships with one another. I do wish Morgan would trust herself more, and her basic instincts, but I understand her not doing so moves the story forward. :)

Just started this book. Finally. Reading thanks to Overdrive via my local Library. If you’re reading, too, and you aren’t smiling your way through “How Did I Get Here?” (aka Chapter 2), you may need therapy.

My brain is aching.

Suspending disbelief and any knowledge of the law and police procedure, these books are a nice distracting read from the pandemic. HOWEVER ... I’d really hoped the author would switch up the same stale formula he used in the previous books in the series. It was a disappointment to find that, at least with David Sloane, he is a creature of habit.

I couldn’t be happier that Oddie and Stormy have been reincarnated in the guise of Joe and Portia! Though it is perhaps possible that Joe is Himself’s nephew with Portia as his Gerda. Hey, stranger things have happened in the Koontz Universe.
