Well, I was originally put off by this given that the blurb sounds like the most YA nonsense to ever YA... but I saw this in the library and figured I've already done the cheese of ACOTAR and the weirdly enjoyable complexity of Crecent City, I may as well complete the trifecta. 🤷‍♀️
So far so good actually! It reads like a nice middle ground between the two series.

ADHD braim dump; Illyrian characters have blimmin great big bat wings. The author keeps describing them pulling their shirts off... in the same way you'd describe a normal person doing that action. WHAT. Are there holes? If there are holes, how do they reach far enough to slip it over the wings? Are there extra buttons/ties? If not then how can they conceivably pull their shirts over their heads?! Is it ~magic~ ?!

If I had a pound for every time someone's bones "barked" or a characters eyes glowed with unearthly light... I'd have enough money to pay a psychiatrist to find out why I'm still reading this.
