My favourite part of this book is how irrelevant it is that ghosts exist. So far, it has no major impact on the course of the story besides setting off the initial mystery - which could have been done just as well by a letter clutched in the dead man's hand.

This has SO MANY POV characters. I'm only in the first part but I'm already finding myself a bit lost.

Obsessed that the space representative from Naam who "wears a ring in their septum that's a gesture of their nonbinary identify".

That passage made me laugh so hard, only to be caught off guard two chapters later by a devastating scene about Fenn.

Sunk cost fallacy is the only thing keeping me from dropping this. I am so close to finishing it but so, so very uninterested.

I wish I cared at all about the world building and goblin politics.

Having a first nations policeman threaten what was essentially a starlight tour in the Yukon feels a little tone deaf. Despite that, this is pretty much everything I wanted from The Gathering book 1. Isolated setting. Unsettling murders. Strange, corporate overlords. Wonderful.

I think I've broken myself and I can't read anything but Armstrong anymore. Rip.

First novella was cute! Well, as cute as a story about human trafficking can be.

It's so nice to be back in this world.
