Fantastic insightful book about the history of the Dutch political and technocratic elite in the lead-up to, during and after the German occupation. The moral, ethical, and policy dilemma’s; how the actors responded to situations, and what their tradeoffs and considerations were, is very interesting especially as its not as simple as a black-and-white discussion or a good versus evil situation, but a nuanced one.
