Why is Mirissa in so many places where she has no reason to be there? Since she keeps appearing, could she be given character development beyond “young hottie”?? She’s just there to bring the other characters to life.

Why did ACC say that Sagan is a writer of scientific romances? (The target planet is named Sagan Two and a character asked where the name came from. Definitely forced dialogue. No other planet names are discussed.) Isn’t that what this book is trying to be? Poorly? Must be some kind of joke.

Simply erasing religious history somehow erased all human behavior? No. Humans are possessive. Humans are greedy and power hungry. Men are violent. Religion didn’t do that. Ask Darwin.
This book is so dumb.

This is an old man’s atheist fantasy with strong misogynist undertones. He understands science but not humans or souls. Or women.

I love that the president position is chosen by lottery, and nobody wants it, and that they have acknowledged anybody who aims at having the presidency is immediately disqualified.

ACC seemed arrogant and off putting in his intro. The brother/sister interactions in the beginning chapters are odd.
