Dad and I continue to make our way through Dave Barry’s books.

My toxic trait is complaining about almost every Riley Sager book but still reading them.

Dad book club:
Texts with dad
Dad: “Read chapter 20.”
Me: “Ok I’ll read that tonight.”
Dad: (Later that day.) “Read chapter 21 too. The last one was short.”
Reader it was not short. Dad book club is demanding.

Dad book club:
Me: So we are both finished with chapter 16 right?
Dad: I read 17 too. I couldn’t stop.
Me: 😐
Dad: 🙃

Dad book club going strong.

Dad book club:

Dad: “And another plug for Jersey Mike’s Subs. Is he getting paid to advertise them?”
Me: “I don’t think they’re anything special.”
Dad: “Me neither.”
Then we both proceed to spend the rest of the conversation talking about sandwich shops we’ve loved.

Dad book club. A conversation from yesterday:

Me: “You ready to talk about chapter five?”
Dad: “I’m still on chapter four.”
Me: “We talked about chapter four yesterday.”
Dad: 🙃
Me: 🤷🏻‍♀️

My Dad and I bought each other the same book for Christmas. So we are doing a chapter a day together. Dad buddy read!

I don’t understand what’s happening and that’s ok. I guess…🤣 Taking Claudie’s advice and not looking anything up. 😬

My attention span has been not good lately and I’ve felt blah. Hoping this cures some of it.

We had a longstanding rule that it was all right to wake the other for sex—much to my delight—but I wouldn’t be selfish. This time. But if his eyelash even so much as flickered, I was going to be on him like a wet blanket. A horny wet blanket. 😂

“No, no, no, it’s more like, well, I mean, look at him, he’s obviously got a lot of physical mass—I’d describe him as a man of carriage—” It took that long for Hazard’s brain to catch up. “What the fuck?” “Well, I mean, your derriere—” This feeling, Hazard realized, was horror. “Stop. Talking.” Everyone loves talking about Ree’s booty! 🤣

“What are you doing?” Hazard asked. “I’m looking for your juicer,” Shaw said, voice muffled inside the cabinet. “That will be the easiest point of contact to extract the ethereal essence.” “We don’t have a juicer.” “I’m pretty sure you do. I saw it in a dream.” Hazard had to blink a few times to de-stroke from that. I love when North & Shaw pop in. 🤣

“God, you know, I think I actually like it when you get this grumpy. It’s like I turned this corner, and now I want more and more of it.” “You are a moron,” Hazard said and strode off.

This book is a lot more dry so far than the other two I read by this author. I feel like I read for hours and only read a few pages. 🤣
