I’m not crazy about the first scene between Hawke and Poppy. It screamed sexual assault. She never verbally or physically assented to anything he did to her, and I’m having a hard time progressing past that. It also bothers me that she looks at it with any positive feelings since none of it was her choice. Maybe I’m projecting. I’ll keep reading.

Ok, can we talk about the gross breach of patient confidentiality here? I like that a lot of this is medically accurate, but there are a lot of liberties that the author is taking that pulls me out of the story - because I work in healthcare.

‘Perhaps the only thing to recommend Mr. Thomas is his fine mustache.’ First of all, barf. Moustaches are hideous, and make you look creepy. Also, this author is really pissing me off. All his ‘main’ characters have names similar to his, and look like him too. It’s bad storytelling and pretentious.
