This may be the only book I get to read this year🤣I am so enjoying the story! I find myself clenching my teeth due to all the troubles that befall the Frazier family and the extended families on the ridge. I like how the author returns to storylines from past books. I love her writing!

Lisa See never fails to deliver a novel you don’t want to put down. It reminds me of friends in the past who should have been always friends but for one reason or another, it didn’t turn out that way!
Ms. See has a way of writing in which you actually feel the emotions of her characters. I love her Asian stories!

It gets better and better! At first I wasn’t sure if I cared for Miranda. Now I’m thinking she’s one smart broad!

I’m enjoying the book more than I thought I would. Young Mary Russell and older Sherlock Holmes! And Mary is the curious type. The type to try anything once, like public bathing with men in Japan. Of course, it’s not so bad when you can’t see a thing without your glasses!

As always, Charles Todd delivers. Ian Rutledge goes across England to find leads for a dead case he’s working. Hamish, of course, accompanies him on his investigations, almost as a voice of reason. No love interest for Ian at this point. I’d like to see a woman who is good enough for him. Maybe Kate Gordon...
