Never read these books as a kid. Always loved the movie. Book didn't disappoint.

Interesting to hear his perspective, easy to read. Felt like didn't delve deep enough to me. But just writing it might help raise awareness. Male suicide rates are a fact. Life has changed materially from the environmental challenges which led to our development. I think I'd have liked a bit more history of why we ended up with male defined society (it feels like religion should get a mention as a tool in that).

Hard work, don't really know what the point was.

Only read it to see what was real and what was artistic licence in the film. Like a few others have said, not great book re writing but I got what I wanted from it. Made a better movie, with the extra interpretation. But glad I read it.

Oh my, it took forever and he does put a lot of excess detail (social / historical yes, but a bit too much for my liking). The story parts were great but I'll not be rushing to read any of his others. Give me a movie or musical version amytime

one chapter in and thinking I shall force myself to give chapter 2 a go... if it continues like this I may not make it to the end of chapter 2......
