Really good, and very disturbing.
There are some points that I find myself confused, as if she has leaned a bit too heavily into poetic allusion’s every now and then. But I always am pulled back again…imagining and connecting to what is there, though I may not have experienced her exact trauma. There’s enough there that I can’t imagine any woman would not be able to see themselves.

I’m intrigued! Though, I do feel that it’s dragging a bit at this point. The fragmented nature of the protagonists journal entries makes it all a bit scattered and unfocused, to be stretched out for so long.

“…because denial, fabrication—storytelling—was her way of staying one step ahead of her life, how could any of us tell her she was wrong?” (197)

“Pain, however, is no story in itself”

"I miss you more than I remember you." (186)

I love it!
It really pulls you in and manages to get you to care about all of its characters-even the ones that I want to punch most of the time.
Well, even if I wouldn’t go as far caring about them per say, I still am able to feel about them. They feel like fully realized people, trying to live their lives despite it constantly throat-punching them. Strict morality cannot exist in a fully realized world.

It’s a very easy read-I’m drawn into the characters so easily, it’s like they’re reaching through the pages to pull me in.

And also…sad, and sweet at the same time.

It started out promising, only to quickly devolve.
The tone and setting never quite match up-I keep getting pulled out of the moment. It seems like the author wanted to have snappy and "humorous" dialogue paired with moments that were also supposed to be serious in tone.
Instead of a mature and sincere romance between fully realized adults, I'm getting flimsy melodramatics that go nowhere. 900? More like 17
