I’m not a fan of the constant author notations, but this book is very clever and fun despite them!

This seems like the perfect book so far to kick off spooky season with! I love a good haunted house book, this almost reminds me of The September House.

Okay this book is seriously pissing me off but it’s a Peter Swanson thriller so I know it’ll all come together and be worth the frustration in the end.

Okay now MY head is starting to hurt. This book is such an intricately woven web, and based off of the fantastic reviews, it’s worth the headache to try to untangle it.

I’m seemingly in the midst of a streak picking books with infuriatingly oblivious MCs.

I’m hate reading this at this point. It’s beyond obvious it was her own dad that killed her older sister. And I’m willing to bet that her remains are stored in her dad’s car that he never drives. They even said at the beginning of the book that the garage smelled like death, but that the dad blamed it on a raccoon that got stuck. This book is awful.

Okay I’m going to be so pissed off if it was the dad that killed his teenage daughter. It seems pretty obvious that that is what’s going on, but I’m only halfway through so there better be a good twist.

I have no idea why this book is rated so highly. The MC is an idiot, the sister is an idiot, the dad is a cheating idiot…. everyone sucks so far.

This MC is infuriatingly oblivious and naive.

This book is…. intense, to say the least. Definitely wasn’t expecting graphic descriptions of soldiers committing war crimes…

I need a little bit of whimsy, nothing has really happened yet but I already am having fun with these characters.
