Pretty good so far…

Hillenbrand slays. Inhaled most of this on Sunday but had to pause bc it’s heavy. If it feels hard to read, I can only imagine what Louie Z. felt as he actually experienced what the author details. Thinking a lot about our heroic military vets.

WW ll book that I’m late to the party to (everyone has read this and now I know why). Gripping. The Pacific WW ll theater is fascinating b/c it’s hard to imagine such exquisite beauty also being a place of such horrific violence.

Retro read, which makes it juicy. The last time I ripped through this series was at age 12, emerging. Now as a seasoned femme, am seeing it through the mother lens. Loving it all the same (maybe more) now.

Picked this gem up in a cozy bookstore in Annapolis today, and absolutely love her writing. I had heard about it on NPR during the height of COVID and am only now getting around to it - so good.

I’m on a yearlong journey to better reflect on my faith’s values and their political context. First animated in 1750 by Fr. Alban Butler, this is the raw text (minus several saints thrown in after the fact), which is marvelous.

Amity Gaige is a new find; I can’t put this book down despite the fact that this is a very busy time of year.

These two irreverent sirens are just as glamorous and hilarious on the page as they are on air.

I just dipped my toe into this fabulous pond of literary encouragement as part of a class I’m taking. I can see why it’s a classic.

Hard to put down read...

Not a story but a world...this is incredibly wrought and very sad. The kind of read that stays with you forever, though I’m almost done.

This. So intense...I need intermissions...

Rereading Mary Oliver in the wake of her death. It’s about as sublime an experience as you can have with a book. Her poetry, which centers on nature, shimmers like newly born coral.

Only on page 23 and already want to tell everyone interested in a poetry, spirituality, and philosophy about this fresh read. Lush, verdant, and full of wisdom.

This is delicious.

I’m reading this aloud to my girls and we are all marveling in it. A beautiful story that we can’t put down.
