Twice now a building has gone up in flames and exploded in short order, and I can believe the house going up in flames very quickly, but explosions?!!?

I’ve got some crazy whiplash going on coming from Uncle Tom’s Cabin to reading this, and the slaveowners in the former are saying the exact same things as everyone except Hermione in Goblet of Fire about slaves/house elves— “they don’t want to be freed, they were born to serve” etc

brainwashing used in the page but brainwashing as a term didn’t exist until the 1950s !

Why is the dialogue painfully bad.

My second time trying to read this book, I really can’t do it, writing style just isn’t for me, I literally don’t care about any of the characters — they die anyway.

this reads like a wattpad story but with good editing, but those two combined still isn’t necessarily a good thing
