Interesting concept. Thought it would be a bit different. Ghosts are background only. Have many more questions about them and the family history....if we can just stay away from the love story.....

Needed a bit of a break from some bad horror novels back-to-back. And the year started out so good.....

Funny. I just a read another book with so many similar plot points. This one is better written. But it's funny how alike they are. Like gothic novels can't be diverse enough.....

Good so far. A little bit creepy. Can't help but feel the multiple perspectives is making up for a very thin plot.

First 20% was really good. Next 20%.....not so much.

Less drinking and partying and more monster hunting.

Some great imagery and some spookiness. Not a huge fan of starting at 100% and trying to sustain it. Doesn't allow a lot of time for atmosphere and general creepiness to grow if it's all scares all the time.

They had me at Keanu Reeves wrote a book.

Thought I would read this again before Empire of the Damned. I really want to remember every single scene and plot point.

This is...not good. The characters are horrible, the writing is bland and repetitive, and I don't necessarily understand what is supposed to be achieved. There is no real plot. I would barely call this 'gothic.'

So much left to go.....only so many pages left.

This is actually quite creepy. Really good so far.

I'm waiting for more of the horror elements.......

Going for a bit of classic horror.

This started out really good, but the middle is dragging a bit. Interested to see where this is going. Sometimes it reads in a Lovecraftian way, and others it doesn't.
