I think it's kind of starting to make sense to me finally :) The thing about this book is that it's so well written, even when I didn't fully understand what's going on, I enjoyed it. I'm gratified that I'm not the only one who has found the exposition in this book a little bit confusing, but I'm glad I've stuck with it

I absolutely loved the Wax and Wayne books but it has been a while and I am struggling to remember what happened in Bands of Mourning. I'm a little ways in and enjoying it so maybe my brain will catch up on its own... if not I will go back and reread. I love these characters!

Katherine is starting Still Just a Geek: An Annotated Memoir

Not sure I will be able to finish this one. Had to take a break. I love Wil and appreciate his intentional efforts toward growth and empathy but it feels mildly insulting to the reader to apologize for the same thing every other sentence, not to mention jarring and annoying. I should probably just go read the original.

Really digging all these stories, and had a chance to visit Laurel Canyon and Hollywood for a quick weekend a few weeks ago - took this book with me and it felt very indulgent to lie around on my hotel balcony with this book. Maybe I need to go back to finish it…
