This was SOOOOO good! Most of my knowledge of the ancient Greek legends came to me simply because I live in Western civilization (and I often get it confused with ancient Egyptian or Roman). The narrator on this was spectacular. I intend to listen to more Madeline Miller!

More than halfway through and I don't believe there has been one female character...I get that the context is mainly in an abbey with Catholic priests and that it was published in 1960 BUT STILL!
