after reading there is no antimemetics division, I was really doubtful i'd ever be instilled with the type of cosmic terror that really well written eldritch creatures inspire ever again... BUT WOW THIS BOOK IS GIVING ALLLL THE HORRORS OF UNKNOWABLE UNDEFINABLE CREATURES WHICH EXIST BEYOND SPACE AND TIME!!!!!!!! i love love when horror and fantasy and sci fi blend to make these majestic stories

There's so much naruto style sermonizing in this story. I really think it would have benefitted from aging up the characters by like. 4 years at least.

i cannot understand why this book won a goodreads choice award. i'm on chapter 2 and it's already hit every trope in existence. the Maiden is the Chosen one also she is a Virgin and Innocent but also she wants to have a Romantic Adventure and also she is Brave because she Escapes her palace to go cavort in a brothel and also she is Pretty but believes she is Ugly and also the romantic interest is Beautiful and Broken

This book is so sad but also really poignant and i am just so...........sad

How is everyone in this book so GD STUPID. LIKE HELENE JUST *FORGOT* ABOUT THE BIG BAD GUY THAT'S BEEN TORMENTING THE ENTIRE CREW???? suspension of disbelief is one thing but come ON. OH MY GOD. Her second in command - who worked for Keris - tells her it's a trap. And what does she do?? WALK RIGHT INTO IT. She's like omg! I did not think the woman who orchestrated the murders of 4/5 of my family members could be evil

i have a soft spot in my heart for lara jean but.........this romance. it's so romantic. so sappy. i m waiting for things to go horribly wrong. that's my favorite part of this series.

This is so funny bc ok Kaz Brekker generally left good people alone right? bc the barrel didn't have good people or whatever. but locke lamora steals from everyone. old ladies. children. it's great. so pitiful but so funny.

also i should stop comparing this to soc but i can't help it

idk why it says there are only 499 pages, my copy as 1309. Which is significantly higher.

Anyways, this book is amazin so far. Not as gripping as Six of Crows-- I think because, while the imagery is bountiful and beautiful, it's extremely wordy, but you get the same sense of malicious delight >:)

I like this book so far! The twist on the ex is interesting, new love interest isn't a cliche, and a WEDDING PLANNING BUSINESS? Intense. V fascinating, too.

dis is such a detrimental stereotype and i don't understand why indian authors are the ones perpetuating it. i have not met a single indian in real life, whose parents want them to get married young. Everyone wants their kids to be independent and successful so where is this comin from

ya this family is already stinkin of the insane, conservative indians who caught the marriage bug trope. I wouldn't mind so much if this wasn't the family featured in every book written about indians = =

I'm real hesitant about this book.
