This is so much better than I expected. It is like a violent fairytale version of The Nanny.

i dont know how editors are going to keep track of continuity in later books with all of the levels and spells and achievements. nightmare for them, great for us.

I am still loving this series but find Carl's lack of emotion about the mass extinction noticeable. Like Mordecai has more character development about loss than the main character. Even Donut is kind of lacking with any sort of longing for life before the dungeon.
